InfoDays — Information Days Platform for Canton Ticino
Each September the Canton Ticino administration receives several hundred young adults over three weeks for a mandatory information day. We developed a platform with three interfaces, for administrators, personnel, and visitors, so that onboarding, personnel management, administration, and archival duties run from one place. It is in use at cantonal level; expansion to federal level is being planned.
The Need
Running the information days means importing and checking visitor lists, registering arrivals, guiding participants through the day’s timetable, coordinating staff on duty, and keeping records that hold up afterwards. Much of this happens under time pressure, with personal data that must be protected.
The Platform
Three interfaces share one system, each showing a role only what it needs.
- Administrators: service days, visitor list import with validation, corrections with a recorded reason, a live command dashboard, and controlled exports
- Personnel: duty-scoped dashboards, an assistance queue, and self-service for the day’s practicalities
- Visitors: check-in, group and timetable guidance, location markers derived from the schedule, and meal preferences
Data Protection
Personal identifiers are stored encrypted and shown masked in normal views. Every change to a visitor record is kept as append-only history, exports require re-authentication, and retention is automated.
Human Oversight
Staff register and correct arrivals, every manual change to a record needs a stated reason, and exports are approved by a person. The platform organises the day; the administration runs it.
Business Value
One working environment for onboarding, personnel management, administration, and archival, in place of separate lists and hand-offs.
